The University of Bucharest awarded the Order of Cultural Merit in the rank of Grand Officer
As stated in the decoration decree, the distinction was also awarded in recognition of the impressive results achieved in the intellectual and personal development of younger generations for promoting quality in Romanian higher education.
The University of Bucharest is affiliated with over 50 institutes, departments, and research centres, covering the areas of study offered by its faculties, as well as:
- the Dimitrie Brandza Botanical Garden in Bucharest,
- the Hațeg Country UNESCO Global Geopark,
- several Neolithic and medieval archaeological sites,
- a series of research stations in: ecology (Sinaia and Brăila); geography and geology (Orșova, Eșelnița, and Sfântu Gheorghe): physics (Surlari).
Excellence in Research at the University of Bucharest
In 2014 was founded the Research Institute of the University of Bucharest (ICUB), designed as an innovative structure that fosters excellence and interdisciplinarity in Earth, Environment and Life Sciences, Exact Sciences, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
ICUB’s mission is to provide a dynamic and creative environment for both young and established researchers, positioning itself as a central hub in the international network of research institutes. It aims to promote collaboration and partnerships with other research centres and projects.
