The CIVIS Alliance unites students, academics and staff through new opportunities which touch on all aspects of university life. This includes research and innovation (R&I). Our project RIS4CIVIS, funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 programme, aims to develop an ambitious R&I strategy for the Alliance. Open science, human capital, infrastructure, civil society engagement and industry link-ups all been key areas of work. Within these "Modules", we are not only testing concrete actions for our future strategy, but also reflecting on the policy and management hurdles for cross-border research in Europe.
The project enters now in its final phase, where dissemination is the key word! In a new set of Briefing Notes, several of the RIS4CIVIS Modules now set out their recommendations, advocating to decisionmakers with specific guidelines based on their experience and key findings. You can already read these Briefing Notes today, and their recommendations will surely be of interest for experts and policymakers in the field of research management.
- Briefing note: Module 1 - Developing a Common Research and Innovation Strategy
- Briefing note: Module 2 - Sharing research infrastructures
- Briefing note: Module 3 - Academia-business R&I cooperation
- Briefing note: Module 4 - Building common standards for HR policies
- Briefing note: Module 5 - Mainstreaming of open science
These ideas will also feed into our work in the final months of RIS4CIVIS. By the end of 2023, we will wrap up the case studies, draft the final proposal for a CIVIS R&I strategy, then transpose it into an Institutional Transformation Model to inspire others.
