Internationalisation of European Universities Alliances: new frontier, new diplomacy (2024) Internationalisation of European Universities Alliances: new frontier, new diplomacy (2024) ============================================================================================= - European Degree - Student Mobility - European Universities initiative - Communication and Dissemination - Policy recommendations - Academics - Researchers - Policy makers The concept of “new frontiers” could be explored in relation to the polyvalence and new challenges of the academic field. This concept invites us to rethink the structures, processes, and interactions within and beyond higher education institutions. **Prof. Romita IUCU, Ph.D.** (University of Bucharest, Romania & CIVIS) underscores the potential of alliances to break down institutional barriers through innovative learning models. His discussion of the project Digitally Enhanced Mobility showcases how alliances are at the forefront of redefining education in a post-pandemic world and how alliances represent a potential “new frontier” of diplomacy. To sum up, the discussion highlighted both the potential and challenges of expanding EUAs' global reach. Initiatives like the European Degree show promise but risk dominance by wealthier institutions. By 2022, the end of CIVIS’ “fabric phase”, our alliance seeks to win at least one partner institution in the target regions for each of its established thematic Hubs (2).
