This CIVIS course explores the principles of cellular neuroscience based on the "Neuroscience" book edited by D. Purves et al.
One chapter will be discussed at a time. All PhD candidates will read/analyse the chapter, one of them will give a talk and all PhD candidates, together with a senior supervisor, will then participate in a discussion.
Learning outcomes
Candidates receive solid theoretical training in principles of cellular and systems neuroscience. Basic knowledge is deepened by providing a structured overview of the subject and discussing current research topics.

Recognition of ECTS depends on your home university.
This CIVIS course is starting on 24 of February 2022. It will be held online and will take place on Thursdays at 8:30 am ETC, every two weeks.
Requirements
This CIVIS course is open to PhD CIVIS students.
Applicants should have basic knowledge in cellular and systems neuroscience as well as a very good level of English (B2).
Application process
The application deadline is 31 January 2022. Applicants should send a brief description of their PhD project (2-3 lines), the year of their PhD program (1st, 2nd or 3rd year) and indicate their English level.

Assessment
Participants will be assessed based on their regular attendance and successful chapter presentation.
