The objective of this mini-programme is:
- To highlight current research topics in biochemistry in the different CIVIS universities
- To encourage the lead to research collaborations and student exchanges or internships
- Broaden the scientific horizons of our students
The program contains 2 parts:
- The Biochemistry webinar series (ongoing)
- A new segment of students' prepared presentations, structured to encourage teamwork within an international student team
Main topics addressed
The topics covered in the two series of seminars included in this course include a wide range of biochemical topics including protein structure-function relationships, the latest results on several complex molecular machines and novel methods in Biochemistry.
The first part of this program is the CIVIS Biochemistry webinar series which should be followed by enrolled students (either live or the recordings watched), and then in the second part, the students in this program will give a seminar on a selected subject.
Students will be organized into small international groups of Master's students, led by a PhD student to prepare a seminar on a specific topic of Biochemistry. The team will be tutored and guided by one of the professors to prepare them to make a presentation in the continuation of the webinar series.
Learning outcomes
- Widened knowledge of current topics of Biochemical research in CIVIS universities
- Experience in international collaboration, teamwork and project management
- Oral presentation practice in an international environment
- Development of personal international network and pan-European connections
