Explaining a European University Alliance
Part of the ground breaking European Universities initiative, alliances like CIVIS have been changing the landscape of higher education in Europe and beyond since 2019. Grasping such a complex structure, and communicating it to internal stakeholders to increase the sense of beloging and the understanding of what it means to be part of a European University Alliance can be a challenge.
This is why, for CIVIS Days 2024, in Salzburg, the CIVIS Communication Unit recruited actors from the ground, those making CIVIS happen, to explain the secret ingredients that make our alliance a true, inspirational, change maker. Around a kitchen table, academics, reasearchers and administrators from CIVIS 'cooked up' some civisness and, through the methaphor of the 'cooking show', not only explained the key elements and values of our alliance, but also showed the human experience, the friendships and complicity that grows by working together.
A student film crew, a community project
In true CIVIS style, the Communication Unit recruited a student film crew at the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, where our annual CIVIS Days gathering took place. The student crew coordination was assured by Associate Prof. Alois Pluschkowitz (PLUS), cameras were handled by Tara Dirala, Leandra K. Sprenger and René Mehren while sound was managed by Katharina Kaser, Florian Mühlbacher and Verena Karl. The concept, interviews and general production were managed by CIVIS Communication Unit and Pop Productions.
The 'CIVIS kitchen' would have not been possible without the help of Kerstin Fuchsberger, Petra Höpfner Petra and Eva Elise Lechelle from PLUS.
