November 2024 Dr. Jane Goodall, a global icon of hope and positive change, recently delivered an inspiring lecture at the ceremonial hall at the PLUS. Addressing a captivated young audience, she emphasised the importance of creating a better world for people, animals, and the environment. Schools from across Austria and representatives from voluntary organisations, including the youth fire brigade, showcased their Roots & Shoots projects, highlighting diverse efforts to protect the environment, nature, and biodiversity. After the lecture, in a more intimate setting, staff and students of Paris Lodron University of Salzburg had the unique opportunity to meet Dr. Goodall in the library auditorium. A lifelong love of nature ------------------------- Dr. Jane Goodall is a world-renowned ethologist and activist dedicated to fostering deeper understanding and action on behalf of nature. She is celebrated for her pioneering research on wild chimpanzees in Gombe Stream National Park, Tanzania, which revolutionised our understanding of human-animal relationships.
