The Blended Intensive Programme "Critical care" provides students with theoretical knowledge in the form of recorded video lectures, suggested reading material and instructional videos as a preparation for the practical workshops and simulation trainings during the physical part which will take place in Tübingen, Germany, at the University of Tübingen.

Learning outcomes

Following this course, students will learn how to identify, assess and manage critically ill or injured patients.

Physical mobility

The physical mobility part will be running from 3 to 7 July 2023.

The short trip wil consist of a hands-on training week will take place in the simulation center of the University of Tübingen, supplemented with seminars on burn-out, stress and ethical issues in critical care.

Virtual part

The virtual part will be running from 5 to 30 June 2023.

This course will provide students with an online presentation and reading instructions covering the theoretical background. Students can work through the material at their own pace.

Access to all online lectures and other instructional material will be accessible via the University of Tübingen E-Learning platform Moodle.

Requirements

This course is open to Bachelor's and Master students at CIVIS member universities enrolled in the following fields of study or related: Medicine and Intensive Care Nursing.

Medical students should already have gathered first clinical experience. A B2 level of English is also required.

Assessment

The theoretical part of the course will be assessed based on an online multiple choice test that students will be asked to answer.
