The summer school was designed to provide theoretical and practical elements on the theme of marine protected areas, with speakers from the scientific community as well as from civil society. Two field trips are planned in the Calanques National Park, the former by boat and the latter by foot.

The summer school is open to Master's and PhD students at CIVIS member universities and to professionals. An excellent level of English and French is required.

General Eligibility Criteria for CIVIS Courses
Applicants need to be enrolled at their home university in order to be eligible for selection and participation. If uncertain about your status at your home university (part-time or exchange students etc) please check with your home university’s website or International Office.
Applicants who will be receiving other Erasmus funds for the duration of the course are not entitled to funding. Participation in the course may still be possible under “zero-grant” status, but applicants should contact their home university in order to confirm this.

Lecturer in Social Geography, in Aix-Marseille Université, UMR CNRS 7303 TELEMMe. Specialized in the analysis of conflictual and concerted management processes in the field of environment and land use planning, especially in coastal zone and Marine Protected Areas. She is interested in the causes of conflicts, their mechanisms and their consequences in terms of dynamics of stakeholders, governance, public policies and social innovations in socio-environmental changes. She is president of the human and social sciences group of the Scientific Council of the Port-Cros National Park.
Researcher at the CNRS, attached to the UMR DICE (CERIC) in international law of the sea and the environment and more particularly in international law of marine biodiversity. She published a book on "Marine biodiversity conservation beyond national jurisdiction: a challenge for international law". She teaches international environmental law, law of the sea and international economic law at the universities of Aix-Marseille and Jean-Moulin Lyon 3. She is a research associate at the latter.
Strategic environmental Planner and Researcher in sustainable development with more than 15 years of experience in designing, writing, implementing and monitoring European and international cooperation projects (e.g. Erasmus Mundus, Interreg, LIFE coordinator). Expertise in the development and implementation of strategies at EC, national and local level in different fields including education. Specialist in participatory methods and design of evaluation systems and information management.
