1st meeting of Directors of administration to work on the legal entity of the CIVIS alliance
On 13th and 14th February 2020, directors of administration of the CIVIS member universities as well as legal experts met in Aix-Marseille université to lay down the foundation for the long-term administration of our European University.
CIVIS is an ambitious and far-reaching initiative, and to ensure its long-term sustainability, our member universities will develop a strong, integrated and legitimate governance and administrative structure throughout its fabric phase (2019-2022).
To this end, directors of administration of the eight-member universities first met in Aix-Marseille université to lay down the foundation for long-term administration of our European University on 13th and 14th February 2020. The objectives of this two-day meeting was to work on the legal entity of the CIVIS alliance and develop a managerial & organisational structure.
The features for the establishment of a legal entity was discussed and a benchmark and roadmap will be further developed and presented to the board of rectors which will take place on 12th and 13th March 2020. After a thorough analysis, a legal status for CIVIS and a final governance structure will be decided to ensure that our respective university communities are enabled to participate in the decision-making.
