700 books for the library of the Université Amadou-Mahtar M'Bow in Dakar, offered by ULB

The donation, coordinated by ULB's Department of Libraries and Scientific Information (DBIS), follows a promise made by Rector Annemie Schaus during the Princely Economic Mission to Senegal, to support the Université Amadou-Mahtar M'Bow' by sending documentary resources to bolster the shelves of its fledgling library.
Knowledge is only meaningful if it is shared. It is with this conviction that we have committed ourselves alongside the Université Amadou-Mahtar Mbow to enrich their library. And how proud we are to see all these books finding their way onto the shelves! It's through collaboration that we give birth to innovation and create progress together”, stressed Annemie Schaus, Rector of the ULB.
Professor Ibrahima Cisse, the Rector of the Université Amadou-Mahtar M'Bow' added that this donation of books "constitutes decisive support in the development of the university library, an essential pillar of our academic ambition. With this strong gesture, the ULB is helping to lay the foundations of a lasting partnership between our two institutions, in the service of knowledge and Senegalese youth."
Since the creation of this university, cooperation between both univesities has been part of a dynamic of strengthening academic and scientific exchanges.
The ULB has maintained academic ties with Senegal for many years, notably through its privileged partnership with the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD), a member of the G3 – UCAD of the Francophonie and a partner of the CIVIS Alliance.
