Over 60 cross-disciplinary research projects and more than 80 scientists. This is what Explore promises. Organised by the Aix-Marseille Université and its partners, the Explore Festival will bring scientific research closer to society through a week of varied activities. The first edition will take place between 27 May - 2 June and is a chance to discover research across Marseille, free of charge.

The Explore Festival is designed to create a strong synergy between research teams, local citizens and socio-cultural players over a short period of time. It will offer a week-long immersion into the world of research through a series of events designed for all audiences.

Lectures, interactive workshops, experiments, and film screenings will be held in a variety of emblematic locations in Marseille, transforming the city into a true forum for exchange and discovery. The goal is to bring science to places where you might not expect to find it, in order to reach as wide an audience as possible.

Showcasing over 60 cross-disciplinary research projects

Explore Festival will put the spotlight on projects funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR), demonstrating excellence and innovation in French research. Free and open to all, the event will showcase a wide range of over 60 cross-disciplinary research projects in an accessible way, demystifying research and demonstrating its direct impact on our daily lives. And it's all thanks to more than 80 scientists in a dozen venues across Marseille to meet the city's residents and visitors.

Researchers will be sharing their knowledge in a way that is understandable by all. The aim is to stimulate interest, reflection and dialogue between citizens and those involved in research, underlining the importance of the link between science and society.
