Aix Marseille Université, ready to welcome American scientists and calls the same from other European universities

In recent years, 25 researchers from Ukraine, Yemen, Afghanistan and, more recently, the Palestinian territories have been welcomed to the south of France with their families, as part of the Pause programme, which supports researchers and artists forced into exile. Now, the American researchers wishing to pursue their work are also welcomed in France:
We expect to be able to raise around 10 million euros and will work with local institutions to welcome around 15 researchers", says Eric Berton, the President of Aix Marseille Université.
The institution is particularly ready to welcome researchers specialising in subjects that could be censored by the United States, such as climate. The university is committed to facilitating the arrival of interested researchers and their families.
The applications received will be examined in the coming days. Scholarships and chairs will then be offered to researchers, along with premises and laboratories. The President of amU hopes that his example will be followed by other initiatives in French universities and in Europe.
