The Autonoma University of Madrid wants to become an egalitarian, inclusive, diverse, and safe space regardless of gender. For this, it has approved its IV Equality Plan.

Valid until 2027, the plan presents 20 strategic objectives and 89 lines of action - all organized around 6 axes through which to promote equality between men and women, as well as to apply the gender approach and intersectionality to all university activities. One of the main focuses is on teaching, research, innovation, and knowledge transfer.

The purpose

Through this plan, the UAM wants to show the commitment of the university community to fighting gender discrimination and to reinforcing its “zero tolerance” policies in the face of any violence - male violence, hate crimes or sexual harassment, sexual orientation or gender and identity expression.

Furthermore, the aim is to implement a care policy to guarantee the physical, psychological, and emotional wellbeing of the entire university community.
