Treat a tooth or place an implant: diagnosis, decision, and planning Treat a tooth or place an implant: diagnosis, decision, and planning ====================================================================== Format Online Open to CIVIS students Date 8 lug 2022 - [About the event](#tab-about) - [Speakers](#tab-speakers) - [Practical information](#tab-practical_information) A common everyday clinical occurrence is the need to assess a tooth and its prognosis and to decide its retention or extraction and placement of an implant. This situation impacts on several of the clinical specialties of dentistry that must be evaluated for the most competent decision to be made. The aim of this workshop is to examine the factors involved in deciding the retention and feasibility, or even cost-effectiveness, of treatment and retention over the (possibly) more straightforward extraction and implant placement. Various clinical assessments are necessary from the aspect of periodontal health, pulp pathologies and or other significant damage of caries. These aspects can also impact on the restorative or prosthetic treatment decisions that must be made. The choice of implant placement also requires certain evaluations and proper planning.
