This webinar will discuss the basic principles and clinical guidelines that should be followed during vital pulp therapy and regenerative Endodontics. Vital pulp therapy is the biological approach to minimally invasive endodontics and is performed to preserve the health status of the pulp preventing pulpectomy and subsequently root canal treatment. The purpose of this webinar in the first hour is two-fold: first, to emphasize the importance of vital pulp therapy for the long-term maintenance of the tooth in the oral cavity, and second, to focus on the clinical aspects of treatment and the use of various pulp capping materials during different treatment procedures performed in young permanent teeth.
Regenerative Endodontics in teeth with pulp necrosis and incomplete root development is now considered a viable treatment option in such cases and an alternative to conventional apexification. In the second hour of this event, the indications and the clinical aspects of the regenerative endodontic therapy, namely instrumentation and chemical disinfection, provocation of bleeding into the canal and formation of an adequate blood clot, placement of a calcium silicate cement, and permanent coronal restoration will be discussed.
