Generation after generation of students and teachers have succeeded to set our University amongst the landmark institutions of the Romanian society as a whole, through an ethical climate of trust. The University of Bucharest continues to strengthen its position among the world’s leading higher education institutions. In the latest QS World University Rankings 2026, it ranks first nationally for both Employment Outcomes and Employer Reputation, placing 226th worldwide for Employment Outcomes and 400th worldwide for Employer Reputation. The data also show that 81.1% of University of Bucharest graduates secure employment within 7–11 months after graduation. The university also achieves a strong international standing, ranking 495th globally for the International Research Network indicator and within the 761–770 band overall, marking one of its best performances of the past decade. According to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025, the University of Bucharest is recognized as the top university in Romania and ranks 93rd globally, reflecting its significant contribution to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It stands out third in the world for “Gender Equality” (SDG 5), top 25 globally for “Quality Education” (SDG 4), and top 36 globally for “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions” (SDG 16). Nationally, the University of Bucharest leads across seven of the nine SDGs it reports on, demonstrating its excellence in academic impact, equality, and sustainability. The University of Bucharest develops strong connections with numerous prestigious foreign universities and promotes a multilingual environment, as well as cultural diversity. UB supports and develops intercultural exchanges and mobilities for its students, through its international ERASMUS programme and the about 250 constant partnerships with over 53 countries, which have strongly and decidedly contributed to the enhancement of educational standards. The University of Bucharest shapes its educational process according to the needs of the knowledge society, in which forming competences and abilities is utmost important. In order to apply efficient methods in this process, UB publicly states its objectives and strategies, debates them, and applies them, encouraging the members of the academic community to contribute with their ideas and initiatives. The University of Bucharest acts upon the principles of non-discriminatory access and social inclusion of all students. Based on these democratic values, UB shapes its processes to be publicly involved, which legitimates UB in respect to society and aims to find knowledge-based solutions for the current social problems. The University of Bucharest is strongly involved in finding optimal solutions to critical situations that might have an impact on students' experience. UB develops programmes and partnerships of utter concern for students regarding the business environment and is concerned to inform them continuously on career opportunities, supports interaction with the job market, through volunteering, internship programmes, experience exchange, sharing of good practices in different fields of activity.
