This CIVIS course will allow participants to strengthen basic concepts and advance their knowledge through cross-cutting themes in epidemiology, cellular and molecular basis of virulence and pathogenesis, host immune response, control and prevention strategies.

A panel of expert scientists from CIVIS university partners will deliver their presentations based on the latest research advances through different theme sessions.

Interactive dynamic discussions on the specific themes will be proposed at the end of each session.

More than 30 professors from 7 university partners will be involved in giving lectures (face-to-face or e-learning).

This CIVIS course is organised into 5 sessions, 1-2 sessions/day 1 session scheduled in the morning or the afternoon.

Requirements

This CIVIS course is open to students at one of CIVIS member universities. The requirements are the following:

  • Bachelor's degree for Master student candidates
  • Master's degree for PhD student candidates

This CIVIS course is related to the following specific fields of study: epidemiology and risk factors, cellular and molecular mechanisms of the virulence and pathogenicity, host immune response, prevention and cure strategies.

Assessment

The PhD students will be asked to prepare specific questions based on their research projects.
