Improvements for UofG in THE Subject Rankings 2026 Improvements for UofG in THE Subject Rankings 2026 ==================================================== CIVIS Highlights 26 de febrero de 2026 Eight of the University of Glasgow’s 11 subject areas have been ranked in the world’s top 100 in the THE World University Rankings by Subject 2026, with Psychology and Medical & Health placing in the global top 50. Overall, nine subject areas improved from the last year results. The *Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2026* assess universities across 11 subject groups, using the same 18 performance indicators as the overall World University Rankings 2026. These indicators are organised under five pillars: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry, and International Outlook. Glasgow’s rankings this year are: Subject Ranking Arts & Humanities 60 Business & Economics 76 Computer Science 126-150 Education Studies 77 Engineering 151-175 Law 63 Life Sciences 71 Medical & Health 48 Physical Sciences 126-150 Psychology 41 Social Sciences 75 ![Professor Andy Schofield, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Glasgow](https://civis.eu/storage/files/andy-schofield.jpg) > These are very pleasing results that highlight both the strength and breadth of research and teaching at the University of Glasgow. The THE Rankings by Subject 2026 provide further evidence of our reputation as one of the world’s top 100 universities. Professor Andy Schofield, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Glasgow Times Higher Education creates university rankings since 2004, to assess university performance on the global stage and to provide a resource for readers to understand the different missions and successes of higher education institutions. The list of the best universities in the world includes over 2,000 research-intensive institutions from 115 countries and territories.
