Researchers, academics and administrative professionals are both a target group of CIVIS and the people who make it run day to day. This report shows how the CIVIS2 Erasmus+ project supported the Alliance to built the tools, training and communities to support them in both roles.
A shared staff mobility framework now includes the CIVIS Staff Mobility Playbook, institutional fact sheets and reusable templates, while the CIVIS Internationalisation Academy brings together conferences, Staff Weeks, Job Shadowing and Communities of Practice into one coherent development path.
The growth speaks for itself: Staff Weeks rose from 2 in 2022-23 to 15 in 2025-26, for a total of 30, comfortably passing the target of 20, with 821 participants recorded. Five Communities of Practice now connect colleagues across libraries, international relations, HR, career services and university-museum cooperation, and staff mobility for training and teaching reached 482 and 931 mobilities respectively by mid-2026.
International collaboration between staff is also opening new funding doors, including the Jean Monnet Network PolyCIVIS and the MSCA Staff Exchanges project PartiCIVIS. The next step, the report argues, is making sure these tools stay visible, accessible and properly recognised within each university's own practice.
