Our alliance seeks to address joint interests with these partners and find joint solutions to problems facing Africa, the Mediterranean, and Europe together. *But why and how exactly does our alliance develop such partnerships? Which universities in Africa/the Mediterranean region are potential partners of CIVIS? How can members of the CIVIS community participate in the development of partnerships, and how can this process, in turn, integrate the ideas and interests of the CIVIS community?* By addressing these questions, project team members provide a general introduction to the CIVIS sub-project "**African and Mediterranean partnerships**". The information event primarily targets interested academics and staff co-operating with partners in the target region or considering such cooperation. Other CIVIS members are also welcome.
