University Aix-Marseille

With a multi-disciplinary offer of excellence that is resolutely international in scope, AMU is a place of knowledge, innovation, and commitment that is key to meeting the challenges of our time and playing a positive role in society. A leading institution at the heart of the Mediterranean, it forges close partnerships with European and African universities and plays a key role in promoting regional cooperation and creating a space for intercultural dialogue and exchange.

amU has a clear ambition: to open up a world of possibilities and enable everyone to fulfil their potential by helping society move forward. It supports every path and contributes to the collective and individual successes that move society forward. As a result, it is increasing the number of daring and creative interdisciplinary projects to help students learn to think together about the world of tomorrow. Echoing its social and community values, quality of life on campus is one of its top priorities. Finally, as well as playing a major socio-economic role locally, amU takes advantage of its exceptional geographical location to develop partnerships throughout the world.

Granted the national Initiative of Excellence in 2012, it has defined an ambitious vision for 2030, based on 4 strategic actions:

  1. Commitment: to promote the development and well-being of all, and thus contribute to the development of free, committed and civic-minded minds.
  2. Excellence: to ensure that our value is recognised and to develop our influence in order to cultivate our academic freedom and autonomy.
  3. Innovation: be bold and reinvent ourselves to contribute to the social, environmental and economic transformation of our society.
  4. Sharing: developing interdisciplinarity and experimentation to learn to think collectively about the world of tomorrow.
