Study, Travel, Connect: CIVIS Launches New Wave of BIPs Across Europe

Learn

2 April 2026

From 1 April to 3 May 2026, CIVIS invites students across the Alliance to take part in a new round of BIPs that turn Europe into a shared classroom.

BIP-BIP: More Than a Just a Course

Curiosity. Movement. Connection. Discovery. And, above all, a truly European experience that stays with you long after it ends. This is what CIVIS Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) are all about!

But BIPs are not only about studying. They are about meeting people, sharing experiences, discovering places, and building something together—even in a short time. They are about the conversations after class, the cities you explore, and the sense of being part of something bigger than your home university.

Curious? Want to experience it yourself? The timing is right! A new wave of CIVIS Blended Intensive Programmes is opening for registrations from April 1st to May 3, 2026. All CIVIS sudents are welcome! With topics ranging from the role of collective memory in the construction of democratic societies to Non-coding RNAs in Health and disease or Strategic Foresight and Future Studies and much more.

The Student Experience

Blending online collaboration with short-term mobility abroad, they bring together students and academics from across Europe to explore real-world challenges—side by side, across disciplines, and beyond the limits of traditional teaching.

What begins as a course quickly becomes something more: a shared journey of ideas, perspectives, and cultures.

What I value most about CIVIS are the Blended Intensive Programs (BIPs), a great opportunity for intercultural exchange and for experiencing what it means to be part of a European academic community

Study Across Borders

CIVIS BIPs combine online teamwork with short-term mobility abroad, bringing together students and academics from across Europe in fast-paced, interdisciplinary programmes. Designed by at least three partner universities, they offer a learning experience that is international, immersive, and anything but ordinary.

With over 250 programmes already delivered, with a 90% satisfaction rate from students, CIVIS continues to lead the evolution of Erasmus+ mobility—making it more flexible, more inclusive, and more connected to the real world.

Learning That Feels Real

In a BIP, learning does not stay on the page. It unfolds in discussions with peers from different countries, in hands-on activities, in field visits, in moments where theory meets reality. You might find yourself working with people you would never meet otherwise—approaching the same question from completely different angles.

Built around today’s most urgent global challenges, BIPs bring students from different fields into the same room—physically and digitally. One day you might be working with a scientist, the next with a policy student or a creative thinker.

The goal? To learn differently—and to think bigger. For many students, a BIP is their first encounter with an international academic environment.
