Report on Global CIVIS Days (2020) Report on Global CIVIS Days (2020) ==================================== - Communication and Dissemination - Report - Administrators This report details the organisation and results of the first Global CIVIS Days, held online in November 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions. Two editions of the Global CIVIS Days were planned to be organised during the first 18 months of the project (May 2020 and March 2021), however due to the global sanitary crisis their organisation had to be postponed and only one edition was organised – in a virtual format - between October 2019 and March 2020. The next two editions of the Global CIVIS Days are planned to take place during autumn 2021 (mixing virtual and physical activities, the international context permitting) and spring 2022 (physical event). November 2020 saw the celebration of the first Global CIVIS Days, CIVIS annual event where students, university staff, civil society, innovators and local representatives across Europe come together to connect, discuss and team up to find innovative solutions on major societal challenges. For its first edition, the Global CIVIS Days were centred on Green Education with a focus on green mobility, transdisciplinary education and digital transformation. The online event consisted of a 24 hour student hackathon and a day-long conference. Over 530 participants registered to the online conference and 155 students composed of 40 teams from all eight CIVIS Universities participated in the hackathon. [See the full report](https://civis.eu/storage/files/report-on-global-civis-days-2020.pdf) Other resources --------------- - ### Imagining Homeland: Palmyra's (in)tangible heritage and the voices of displacement 1 July 2026 This volume is a monograph documenting the virtual reconstruction projects of the Temple of Baalshamin, one of the most significant forms of tangible heritage belonging to the Syrian community, destroyed as a result of terrorist attacks.
