As an academic or researcher within the Alliance of European Civic Universities, you can participate in the creation of a truly European inter-university space where cross-border collaboration between academics and researchers is encouraged and supported.

A strong Commitment to Science and Society

CIVIS for Academics and Researchers

CIVIS supports academics and researchers in creating new educational opportunities, networking activities, mobility programmes and more. Our regular calls for projects include:

  • The creation of a wide range of educational activities, from blended intensive programmes to micro-certifications, master's programmes, bachelor's degrees and even doctoral networks.
  • Initial funding for research collaboration between Europe and Africa.
  • Support for bottom-up initiatives and partnerships to provide a space for networking activities.
  • Mobility between our member universities and associate members.

The universities on their own wouldn’t be able to have this programme at all because it’s a very smalll field with only three to four students per university. So, by getting together to do it collectively, the programme has taken shape
