The CIVIS Open Labs are pleased to invite you to CIVIS Connect, a series of online seminars throughout the 2024-2025 academic year. This series features eight monthly one-hour sessions focusing on key topics such as public engagement with research, challenge-led education, civic engagement, outreach, participatory research, and service-learning.

The first CIVIS CONNECT webinar

Public Engagement with Research: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly!
Brought to you by the Open Lab Network of the CIVIS European University Alliance.
Launch session 13:00 (CEST) Tuesday 17 September

For our launch edition we’ve teamed up with the European Science Engagement Association (EUSEA) for a session led by Dr. Kenneth Skeldon, recently elected new President of EUSEA and CIVIS Open Lab Lead at the University of Glasgow. Ken will explore the seemingly always-changing landscape of public engagement with research and the increasingly important role networks such as EUSEA and European University Alliances can play.  There will be time for discussion and the session will be sketch-captured by our Resident Artist Judith Du Faux who will create a wonderfully evolving visual storyboard of the CIVIS CONNECT series.
