Biodiversity on Campuses: A Collaborative Initiative Among CIVIS Universities

Development of a common approach for the biodiversity inventory of CIVIS campuses involving professors, researchers and students, source of new collaborations and future projects

Main Beneficiaries & Social Impact

Main Beneficiaries

The project is designed for students, citizens, and policymakers. Participants can take part through workshops, field activities, co-creation sessions, and data dissemination initiatives. The activity is coordinated by 16 academic staff members and supported by 12 administrative staff members. It is addressed to a group of approximately 50 interuniversity students.

 Social Impact

Students and academics benefit through new learning opportunities and the development of networks that can generate real-world impact, which also benefits citizens. The project is expected to increase social awareness and foster collaboration between academics and policymakers in order to strengthen policy influence.

Core Methodology

The main method used is participatory research involving academics and students, based on field activities and data-processing workshops, as well as community engagement aimed at developing solutions to local problems.
