University of Glasgow invites us to join the conversation at European Science Engagement Conference University of Glasgow invites us to join the conversation at European Science Engagement Conference =================================================================================================== 30 Οκτωβρίου 2026 Europe’s annual gathering for organisations and individuals working in public engagement with science and research is heading to the UK. Coordinated by the European Science Engagement Association (EUSEA), the conference will take place in Glasgow next May. For more than 25 years, the European Science Engagement Conference has provided a vibrant platform for the community to come together, debate, share experiences, and develop new ideas. Glasgow, Scotland and the wider UK have a rich history in public engagement with science and research, and the conference gives a timely opportunity to connect and develop networks with colleagues from across Europe based in universities, festivals and events, science centres and museums, funding organisations and NGOs. With the theme of *Gallus Glasgow: Public Engagement for the Brave and the Bold*, the conference builds on Glasgow’s reputation for boldness. **Kenneth Skeldon**, Research Engagement Manager at the University of Glasgow and EUSEA’s President considers *“the Glasgow conference a timely opportunity to bring UK colleagues together with the wider European community to share, network and plan for more impactful exchange between research and society”.* ### Connecting Europe’s public engagement community The conference will take place between 18 - 20 May 2027 and is delivered in partnership with the University of Glasgow [Advanced Research Centre](https://www.gla.ac.uk/research/arc/) and the UK’s national funding agency [UKRI](https://www.ukri.org/). The organisers are expecting [session proposals](https://euseaconf.eusea.info/call-for-proposals-eusea27/) that aren’t afraid to experiment and challenge the status-quo in their efforts to engage audiences in science and research. > *To deliver UKRI’s new mission, to advance knowledge, improve lives and drive growth, we need to build stronger connections between the public and research and innovation. This conference will be a timely opportunity for the UK’s public engagement community to connect with European counterparts, share practice, and form new networks”,* concludes Tom Saunders, UKRI’s Head of Public Engagement.
