NKUA commits to promoting the Greek language, history, and culture within the Greek diaspora NKUA commits to promoting the Greek language, history, and culture within the Greek diaspora ============================================================================================== CIVIS Highlights 31 Ιανουαρίου 2025 A Protocol of Cooperation between NKUA and the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs speeds up the promotion of the Greek language, history, and culture in the Greek diaspora, with a focus on the younger generation. ![](/storage/files/d01a0217-2048x1365-1.jpeg) ©NKUA Making the most of the network of diplomatic and consular posts across the globe, the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs commits to expanding its activities to promote the teaching of the Greek language, history, and culture abroad: > *By joining forces with academic Institutions in Greece and abroad and making effective use of modern digital tools, we actively support Greek language knowledge and draw young people and scientists from the Greek diaspora closer to Greece,* says Giorgos Kotsiras, deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in Greece. The collaboration between the two institutions will promote joint actions between the Greek State and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens: > *The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens has hundreds of thousands of graduates who live and make a name for themselves in numerous foreign countries. Our collaboration with the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs will support the University of Athens’ endeavours to reconnect with its graduates while strengthening its networking with Greek scientists abroad,* underlines the rector of NKUA, Professor Gerasimos Siasos. Under the terms of the Protocol of Cooperation, the interconnections between NKUA and Chairs and Centres for Greek Studies abroad will foster synergies in the fields of Greek Studies and Humanities.
