 This CIVIS handbook explores innovative pedagogies in higher education and showcases practical examples developed across CIVIS universities. It provides a framework for understanding and clustering pedagogical innovation, while offering academics concrete practices and inspiration for creating engaging, student-centered and transformative learning experiences.

The [**Innovative Pedagogies: Ways into the Process of Learning Transformation** handbook](https://civis.eu/storage/files/innovative-pedagogies-handbook-civis-1-2019-2022.pdf) brings together approaches and practical examples of pedagogical innovation from across the CIVIS Alliance.

Developed by the **CIVIS Teaching Excellence Task Force on Innovative Pedagogies**, the handbook introduces the concept of innovative pedagogies and proposes a flexible CIVIS framework organised around five clusters: **technology-based, methodology-based, skill-based, context/real-world-driven pedagogical innovation, and other emerging approaches**.

The publication showcases a wide range of practices developed across eight CIVIS universities, including blended and online learning, gamification, flipped classrooms, experiential and service learning, project- and problem-based learning, virtual laboratories, social media-based learning and other technology-enhanced approaches.

Designed as a practical source of inspiration for educators, the handbook provides detailed descriptions of these practices and demonstrates how innovative pedagogies can support teaching and learning in higher education, including virtual mobility and multilingual learning contexts.
