Dezember 2024 On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Sapienza Università di Roma joins the #NoExcuse campaign - the reference hashtag chosen by UN Women, a United Nations entity for gender equality and women's empowerment. During the last ten days of November, numerous events were hosted within the University's Faculties, Departments and Libraries to raise awareness and involve the university community in the fight against gender violence. ![](/storage/files/photo-01-credits-dcinalli.jpg) © D. Cinalli / SUR The central moment of the event was the #NoExcuse meeting “*Nothing justifies violence. Wisdom for building a culture of respect”,* when a new transdisciplinary course was launched. **The toolbox against gender violence** will become part of the University's training offer in the second semester of this academic year. The new course aims to provide the cultural tools to face, understand and overcome some stereotypes that are still rooted in society today, through the acquisition of skills from different fields of knowledge, intends to combat the phenomenon of gender violence. Classes available entirely online --------------------------------- The teaching modules will last one hour each, consisting of a short video, in which the main notions of a specific theme will be provided. Guests from academic, professional associations and civil society will be provided space for testimonies and experiences. Classes will be available entirely online and in asynchronous mode. They will address the topic of different forms of violence, from a transdisciplinary perspective, ranging from legal, political, social and economic sciences, to the humanities, medical and psychological ones. ![](/storage/files/photo-02-credits-ironcone.png) © I. Roncone / SUR The course is the result of a collective work of all the components of Sapienza's community, starting with students and continuing with the teaching and technical-administrative staff.
